I never wanted to sound like an old fart. I swore I'd never utter the words, "they don't write em like that anymore... They don't though." Ian Dury was one of the first artist I got into. The bloke was as much a poet as he was a singer. I remember, back in the day, that there was much controversy amongst British youth as to which ear it was ok for men to have pierced. These were important issues. The right ear, according to those of minimal intelligence, denoted that the singer was gay. Just like Ian then to confuse their tiny brains even further by getting both pierced. It's hard to believe how 'out there' that was back then. Truly spasticus artisticus, as Mr. Dury would say.
